A Chocolate Awakening
Bangkok may have begun as a small trading post along the Chao Phraya River delta, but with the help of modernization movements in the 19th century and the Asian investment boom at the end of the 20th century, the city has swelled to cover over 1500 square kilometers and is now home to a population of more than 8 million people. The largest metropolitan region in the country, Bangkok dwarfs Thailand’s other large cities and has earned recognition as one of the “World’s Best Cities.” Paralleling such rapid growth has been another burgeoning trend--a fascination for chocolate. While even as recently as the turn of the century chocolate was considered a relatively rare indulgence, it has increasingly become a favorite for gifts and personal enjoyment. A handful of local chocolate makers have taken root in Bangkok’s busy city centers, but most consumers continue to prefer established European brands which bring together time-honored traditions with guaranteed high quality ingredients. zChocolat, which has been delivering to Thailand since before the chocolate boom began, is a particular favorite because it also incorporates easy customization and creative packaging, making it a simple solution for a variety of gifting occasions.
While any mention Thailand cuisine instantly conjures thoughts of Pad Thai and Boat Noodles, Bangkok also boasts a reputation for over-the-top desserts. Cotton candy-clouded ice creams, cartoon-decorated baked goods, and elaborate waffle creations are all easily found in the many cafes and restaurants crowded into the bustling city, with extra credit going to anything that pushes the boundaries of traditional desserts. And while these sugar-laden creations may seem to focus solely on style, substance remains an important selling point as Bangkok consumers increasingly demand fresh ingredients and handmade touches. zChocolat’s exclusive reliance on pure, unblended cocoa butters from sought-after cocoa bean “vintages,” as well as a commitment to all-natural ingredients and complete avoidance of alcohols and preservatives have made them a natural favorite among the city’s most selective shoppers in Rattanakosin, Silom, and Pratu nam. Coupled with fast three-day shipping throughout Bangkok’s many city neighborhoods and surrounding suburbs, special summer packaging that resists even the warmest weather, and unparalleled customer service, France’s finest chocolates are an ideal way to add something exceptional to any upcoming birthday, anniversary, holiday, or special event.

2019-12-31NEW YEAR'S EVE
Founded in 1782 by the first monarch of the present-day Chakri Dynasty, Bangkok is today a spiritual, cultural and commercial centre of Thailand. The capital of Thailand has become a vibrant and sophisticated modern city, successfully combining tradition and modernity and is a city in constant change.Bangkok is crossed by one of the country's main rivers, Chao Phraya which means "river of the Kings", and it is organized around it. It is one of the most attractive and dynamic cities in Asia. In this capital, it is possible to admire modernity, but also poverty and the more traditional aspect of Thai life. Bangkok is in pursuit of grandeur, speed, elegance and contrasts. It is possible to move from the luxurious side of the city to a more traditional side. The city has many multi-lane roads, skytrains (train lines in the air), taxis, tuk-tuks (motorbikes with horse-drawn carriages at the back), air crossings for pedestrians, it is also possible to travel by boat along the river. There is no shortage of transportation, and it is possible to mix with the population relatively easily. The buildings are built in a disproportionate way and run side by side with traditional houses. The markets are numerous, and many Thai live in this very dynamic city to work in tertiary activities.
When Bangkok's past combines with modernity
However, Bangkok has not lost its authenticity over the years, Cultural heritage and heritage are still very present in the capital, which is what makes Bangkok a lively and vibrant city. On the one hand, a very modern facet that can be seen through its aerial metro, its shopping malls, its countless impressive skyscrapers and its various constructions that are today, the symbols of Thai modernity. The house of the spirits, omnipresent, even in the most modern districts of Bangkok And on the other side, a more intimate, traditional and charming city. A metropolis where life goes by the rhythm of tradition and nothing has changed for years, as in the traditional Thonburi district for example. We pass in an instant from a city in effervescence which never pauses, overloaded with traffic, lined with skyscrapers and crossed by the aerial metro, to the small pedestrian Soi (ruelles) where we find stalls, Buddhist restaurants and temples, not forgetting its floating or traditional markets and khlongs, quiet canals that run through the whole city and are lined with old banks. It is possible to take a break from this hustle and bustle by visiting one of the city's many parks, such as the Lumpini Park or Jim Thomson's old house, which represents a real haven of peace in the city's hustle and bustle. Bangkok has therefore not lost its authenticity over the years and remains a city of contrasts between concrete construction and traditional neighbourhoods. With its night markets and street vendors serving the cheerful tom yum spicy soup. Despite the fact that the stakes of growth are omnipresent, it is still possible to stroll around for a while to stumble across ancient Asian buildings.
Other sights of Bangkok:
JatuJack (JJ Market) It's a huge market, open on weekends, tourists and locals are eager to do their half-yearly shopping. If you have the opportunity this place is to be seen, for its originality, and its great diversity of product, you will find shoes, clothes, flowers, statues, good luck portals, art galleries, food, animals, bracelets, crockery, antiques.... Anything you want to buy in bangkok is in Tchatutchak! Tip, in my opinion this is the ideal place to do your shopping before you go home... for more details see the bangkok shopping tips (chatuchak) or the page dedicated to the jatujak market. Chinatown Bangkok, like many other cities, also has its Chinese community and small Chinatown. Excellent place if you want to do business on gold, the shops are numerous, (reserved for connoisseurs, otherwise risks of scam, frequent in all the country), attention there is no shop certification by the state. Khao san road It is in some ways the reference point for tourists and travellers, so you will be able to find a population who speak English more easily, and travellers of all kinds with whom you will be able to exchange your stories. It is a very busy street day and night with a lot of bars and shops where you can find what you want. Kaosan road is interesting but not very authentic, it is a kind of space of connection between Thailand and the western countries discovering it. Be careful because this mix can sometimes be disturbing. If you are looking for peace and quiet, it is advisable not to take a room in this area. Ideal for the fetars, the guest house are many attention pay attention to visit (the prices are very variable). Temples For lovers of culture you will be in Bangkok conquered by a large number of temples, different periods and different peculiarities. Visit the Temples page for more information. Chao praya It is a huge river meandering the city and its suburbs. Many temples are located along the river. It is possible, and advised to navigate on this one, for some baths, you will discover, temple, park, and part of the city from its river. Thai boxing You are strongly advised to make a detour through the ring if you stay a few days on bangkok, this national sport, impressive, extreme, will thrill you.
