Gifts to Mexico

Luxury French chocolates are a fantastic way to elevate any occasion. zChocolat is proud to offer sophisticated gifts ideal for major holidays like birthday gifts, Valentine's Day gifts as well as limitless customization options to create the perfect present for personal celebrations.

Birthplace of Cocoa

Chocolate may be universally adored, but its story begins in what is now modern-day Mexico. As early as 250 BC, the Mayans and the Aztecs were using cocoa beans to create fermented drinks that were incorporated into religious ceremonies, used as aphrodisiacs, and eventually even part of a rudimentary currency system. European colonists were also taken with the distinct flavors of cocoa and quickly spread the new-found favorite throughout their homelands. zChocolat’s famous line of signature chocolates and gourmet gifts is proud to be part of this ancient heritage. All zChocolate creations feature 100% pure, never blended, cocoa butters, allowing the naturally robust flavors of the cocoa bean to shine through. And with flat-fee worldwide shipping and a steady stream of new creations from zChocolat’s master chocolatier Pascal Caffet, the legacy that began more than two millennia ago in Mexico continues to spread throughout the world today.

Delicacy of the Gods

Long considered a luxury food fit for deity, chocolate remains an integral part of Mexico’s culture. From the savory cocoa flavor of traditional mole sauces to the smooth, slightly spicy, flavor of cinnamon-laced hot cocoas, Mexicans regularly stretch the boundaries of what chocolate can do. Finding regular occasions to mix cocoa with other ingredients such a vanilla, chilies, and a wide range of spices has allowed a rich exploration into the nuances of cocoa flavor. Perhaps this is why Mexicans have also developed an appreciation for fine French chocolates like those produced by zChocolat. Unlike North American chocolate which is often overly sweet and one-noted, French chocolate embraces the slightly bitter, rewardingly complex, flavor of high quality single-origin cocoas. Coupled with other carefully sourced ingredients, the resulting recipes are readily acknowledged as some of the best in the world.

Gourmet Birthday Gifts

While chocolate is a celebrated part of Mexican cuisine at any time of year, birthdays and chocolate are especially intertwined. More so than many other countries, birthdays are considered big business in Mexico. Typically celebrated with colorful festivities involving large groups of family and friends, birthdays are a time for sharing gifts and enjoying special foods. Cheerful paper-covered piñatas filled with sweets are a frequent sight at children’s parties, and luxury gifts are increasingly common for all ages. With elegant packaging options, including solid wood boxes and an entire line of specialty birthday gifts, zChocolat has something sure to suit any occasion. The ability to add a custom image on the lid, engrave the recipient’s name on box, and include a personalized greeting card make chocolate birthday gifts even more meaningful. Whether it’s a party for baby’s first birthday Mexico City, an elaborate quinceañera in Guadalajara, or an adult milestone birthday in Ecatepec an assortment of chocolates shipped from Aix-en-Provence, France to your recipient’s doorstep in Mexico is the perfect way to make birthday wishes come true.

Mexico (Spanish: México), officially the United Mexican States (Spanish: Estados Unidos Mexicanos), is a federal republic in the southern side of North America. It is bordered to the north by the United States (USA); to the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; to the southeast by Guatemala, and the Caribbean Sea; and to the east by the great Gulf of Mexico. Covering almost 2M square kilometers (over 760,000 sq mi), Mexico is the 6th largest country in the Americas by total area and the 13th largest country worldwide. With an estimated population of over 120 million inhabitants, Mexico is the eleventh most populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world while being the second most populated country in S. America. Mexico is a federation comprising 31 states and a special federal entity that is also its capital and most populous city. Other states include Guadalajara, León, Monterrey, Puebla, Toluca, and Tijuana. Pre-Columbian Mexico was the place to many advanced civilizations, such as the Olmec, Toltec, Teotihuacan, Zapotec, Maya and Aztec before first contact with the Europeans when they arrived to Mexico. In 1521, the Spanish Empire conquered the territory from its land in Mexico, which was administered as the viceroyalty of New Spain. It was a great and complicated battle. Three centuries later, this territory became Mexico following recognition in 1821 just after the colony's Mexican War of Independence. The complicated post-independence period was characterized by economic wars and many political changes. The bloody Mexican–American Warled to the territorial cession of the larrge northern territories to the United States. The Pastry War, the Franco-Mexican War two empires and a domestic dictatorship occurred throughoput the 19th century. The dictatorship was overthrown in the Mexican Revolution of 1910, which culminated with the arrival of the 1917 Constitution and the emergence of the country's first stable political system.
