Worldwide Shipping · 178 Countries

From France to
your recipient’s doorstep.

Hand-packed in the South of France, temperature controlled, signed for on arrival. For most destinations, customs duties and taxes are included in what you pay at checkout — within the shipping price, or on their own “Customs duties” line for a few countries — so your recipient has nothing to pay. In a number of countries (listed in our Terms of Sale) duties cannot be prepaid: if they apply, your recipient pays them to FedEx on delivery — we tell you at checkout, before you order.

Duties settled
in advance.

Wherever the destination allows it — most of the 178 countries we serve — the import duties, taxes and clearance fees are included in what you pay, so they’re settled before the parcel arrives. For most destinations they are simply part of the shipping price. Where a country’s customs tariffs weigh more, they appear as their own line at checkout — Customs duties, a percentage of the value of your order (the current rates are listed in the FAQ below). Either way, the total you see is the total you pay. For the countries where that isn’t possible (listed in our Terms of Sale), we tell you plainly before you order: if duties apply there, your recipient pays them to FedEx on delivery. Customs authorities can always inspect or hold a shipment — no one controls that — but the duties themselves won’t land as a surprise.

Nothing to pay on arrival — FedEx Express delivery, customs duties and local taxes are all included in what you paid at checkout — the shipping fee and the Customs duties line above.

* Japan is a duties-included destination (DDP), like most of the 178 countries we serve. Where a destination’s customs tariffs weigh more, the duties appear as their own line at checkout rather than inside the shipping fee — you still pay once, at checkout, and your recipient pays nothing. In the countries where duties cannot be included (DDU, listed in our Terms of Sale), the carrier collects the import duties and taxes from your recipient on delivery — we tell you at checkout, before you order.

Included at checkout

Wherever it’s permitted, the final total you see is the total you pay — shipping, duties, taxes, handling, all of it.

No price in the box

Your recipient opens a gift — no invoice, no declared value visible.

Customs handled by FedEx

FedEx clears your parcels through its own customs brokers and files the import declarations. In some countries customs may still ask your recipient for an ID or a document: a local phone number and e-mail help.

Flagged in advance

For the countries where local duties can’t be included, we tell you at checkout, before you order.

A journey the chocolate never feels.

Our chocolates carry no preservatives and very little sugar, which makes them sensitive to heat. So whenever the temperature at origin, in transit or at destination requires it, your box travels in insulated packaging with refrigerant packs that keep the inside at 15–20°C (59–68°F) until delivery — added automatically, free of charge.

Outer export carton

A rigid outer carton protects the presentation box through handling and transit.

02
Insulated container

An insulated shipper isolates the chocolates from the outside temperature for the whole journey.

03
Refrigerant packs

Refrigerant packs travel inside the container, sized to the season and the destination climate.

04
An interior of 15–20°C

Together they keep the inside at 15–20°C (59–68°F) until delivery.

05
A shipping date chosen for the weather

In the summer months — northern or southern hemisphere — we may ship your order early or hold it back rather than let it sit in a warm facility over a weekend. We always tell you when we change the date.

The Perfect
Delivery Promise.

Shipping is imperfect. Our response to imperfection is not. If something goes wrong between our atelier and your recipient, tell us within 24 hours of delivery and we make it right, at our expense: a replacement shipped the next business day — at peak season, as fast as the atelier can — or a refund.

01

Your recipient is absent.

FedEx re-attempts delivery the next business day, then leaves a notice with the number of the local agency, where the parcel is held for a short time before being returned. Your recipient can reschedule from the FedEx link, and our customer service helps if needed.

02

The box arrives damaged.

Send us a photo through the contact form within 24 hours of delivery. We send a fresh box by express the next business day — or refund in full, your choice.

03

A heatwave catches the parcel.

When local or transit temperatures put an order at risk, we ship it earlier or hold it back rather than let it sit in a warm facility over a weekend — and we tell you before we move the date.

04

The parcel is lost in transit.

If tracking stops moving, our customer service opens a trace with FedEx and follows it through. Where the parcel cannot be recovered, we re-ship or refund in full — zChocolat assumes the additional cost, never you.

Logistics FAQ

Eight questions,
eight answers.

Still a question? Our customer service answers in English or in French.

01

Can you deliver to a hotel, hospital or office?

Yes — hotels, hospitals, offices, private clubs and co-working spaces are among our most frequent delivery points. Add the room or suite number, the name under which the recipient is registered, and an instruction for the reception desk. Choose a delivery date one business day before check-in so the box is waiting; hand-to-hand delivery to the guest cannot be guaranteed.

02

Will the chocolate melt if the parcel sits in the sun?

Whenever the weather requires it, your parcel travels in temperature-controlled packaging: an insulated container with refrigerant packs keeps the inside at 15–20°C (59–68°F) until delivery. In the summer months we may also bring your shipping date forward or push it back, so the parcel is not stored in a warm facility over a weekend — we let you know whenever we do.

03

Is there a price or invoice visible inside the box?

No. Every order is treated as a gift. No price, invoice or receipt is ever placed inside the parcel. For customs, international parcels carry a commercial invoice attached to the outside of the shipping carton, which FedEx is instructed to remove before delivery. Your recipient sees only the chocolate and your personal message card.

04

Will my recipient be charged duties or taxes on arrival?

In most of our destinations — every import duty, tax and clearance fee is included in what you pay at checkout, so your recipient receives a gift, not a bill. For most countries they are included in the shipping price. Where a destination’s customs tariffs weigh more, they appear as their own line at checkout — Customs duties, a percentage of the value of your order: United States 10 %, Canada 5 %, Japan 5 %, Norway 5 %, Panama 5 %, Iceland 10 %, Indonesia 10 %, Puerto Rico 10 %, Qatar 10 %, Taiwan 10 %, the Philippines 15 %, Israel 20 %, Saudi Arabia 20 %, La Réunion 20 %. In the countries where duties can’t be settled in advance (listed in our Terms of Sale), we flag it clearly at checkout before you order: if duties apply, your recipient pays them to FedEx on delivery. The status for every destination appears in our country list and in your delivery quote.

05

Can I ship to multiple addresses in one order?

Yes. Add each gift to your basket, then at checkout choose “Send to several recipients” and assign a recipient to each gift. Each parcel gets its own message card, its own delivery date and its own tracking link; the recipients never see a price.

06

What if I need the gift to arrive on a specific date?

Select a target delivery date at checkout. We work back from the transit time of the destination to set the shipping date — but be aware that customs clearance and last-mile delivery are in the carrier’s hands, and we cannot guarantee the exact date when authorities or weather intervene. If something goes wrong in transit, our customer service follows it up with FedEx. A parcel already shipped can only be redirected by FedEx, within the same city: it takes 24 hours to 5 business days.

07

Do you deliver to P.O. boxes?

FedEx Express cannot service P.O. boxes in most countries. A physical street address — residential, commercial, hotel, or hospital — is required. Our customer service will happily check an address before dispatch.

08

How do I schedule a business bulk shipment?

For a business order with several recipients, download the Excel order form on our Business Gifts page and send it to our corporate sales team, Nathalie Bach (+33 (0)4 42 91 43 66) or Phoebe Thomas (+33 (0)4 42 91 02 63): you receive a quote with a payment link, and each recipient gets their own parcel.
