Indeed, a holiday in St Kitts and Nevis promises calm and thrills at the same time. The change of scenery will be total! From tropical forests to coral reefs, the West Indies will keep their promises! The Caribbean Indians, who arrived in the 8th century, named St St Kitts "Liamuiga", a fertile land, which recalls the richness of this volcanic soil, and Nevis "Ouali": the land of beautiful waters...

Between Puerto Rico and Guadeloupe, in the Caribbean Sea are the two islands of St Kitts and Nevis, both of volcanic origin. The largest is St Kitts (about 170 km²) and is home to the capital, Basse-Terre, located on the southwest coast. It is also on this island that is the highest point of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis (or St Christophe and Nevis), Mount Liamuiga, an ancient volcano 1156 meters high. Separated 3.2 km by a canal (the Narrows), the island of Nevis measures almost 100 km² and has Charleswtown as its main city. Between the music festival (June), the plantations to visit, the historical and cultural monuments, and especially the natural sites, you will not have time to get bored! Swimming in turquoise waters or in hot springs, hiking around Nevis Peak (highest point of the small island, 985m), here nature shows itself in its most beautiful expression! Ecotourism and thermal cure, monkeys and whales, markets, museums, churches, fortresses and castles, parks and gardens with resplendent flora or amusement parks, for what will you lean? Between idleness, visits, relaxation and sport, will you manage to choose? The islands of St Kitts and Nevis enjoy a warm and humid climate all year round. The rainy season begins around May-June and ends around December-January. Be careful, as many of his Caribbean mates, the islands of St Kitts and Nevis know the wrath of hurricanes from August to October. The damage can be catastrophic for the environment and the economy. The dry season runs from February to the end of May. Temperatures are then around 27° and the degree of humidity is lower. The tropical climate is tempered by a continuous kiss. We advise you to leave between February and May. The islands of St Kitts and Nevis are volcanic islands. On the island of Nevis, you will find springs heated by sulphur. Ideal for various pathologies, this parchment water softens the skin, relaxes muscles, soothes stress and tones blood circulation. Spa centres offer mud and other treatments. The St Kitts and Nevis Islands were also the scene of battles between privateers.
The Spanish, English and French fought as always. English remains the official language, French Creole has been lost but English Creole is spoken. Fine sandy beaches and dives, horse riding... Let yourself go, you are on the islands of St Kitts and Nevis. Enchanting landscapes and almost unspoilt nature await you in the heart of the Caribbean Sea! Don't be surprised by monkeys on the loose and take your camera instead! A rich history of Indians, settlers, pirates and slaves, what more inspiring to talk to your imaginary kid! Tropical forests and beautiful flowers whisper in your ear that the St Kitts and Nevis islands have not finished surprising you! From Indian houses to old colonial buildings, from translucent sea waters to beneficial sulphurised waters, as you leave the St Kitts and Nevis islands you will only want to come back. Then prepare yourself for the most beautiful adventure of your life, a vacation to make everyone around you pale with envy!

"Attention you are in an overseas territory of the United Kingdom, do not forget to drive on the left! In restaurants, it is customary to leave 10-15% more for tips. No compulsory vaccinations except the universal vaccination update. Sunscreen is a must!"

Art and culture in Saint Kitts And Nevis
The culture of the St Kitts and Nevis Islands is largely inspired by its past. And as its past is rich, mix of influence are notable in the craft achievements. African influence, Caribbean influence, French and English influence... the whole forms an interesting whole! Pottery is particularly appreciated. Sculpture on wood, weaving of carpets, leather work etc. are the main craft activities. And as, de facto, the English influence is the strongest, cricket is very practiced! Traditional dances are performed during celebrations and festivals, and rub shoulders with waders (called Moko-jumbies) and other clowns, in shimmering costumes!
