The City of Mississauga is an Ontario municipality in the suburbs of Toronto, located in southern Ontario at the confluence of the Credit River and Lake Ontario. It is the sixth largest city in Canada. A multicultural centre, the city was built as a Toronto neighbourhood in its own right. It offers many activities such as golf, spa or walks along its waterfront. It also has many rhododendron-filled gardens by the lake or in the heart of its picturesque city centre. Its architecture is remarkable and it houses many museums and libraries located at the water's edge. Stroll through Streetsville, venture to Benares Historical House and admire an estate and park filled with 160 years of history. Or Adamson Estate, which is now a park open to the public. The house has an incredible Flemish architecture. Its park shelters white pines which supplied the Royal Navy for the masts of its boats. Then visit the Mississauga Garden Park - Riverwood Park and admire over 300 species of native plants and nearby 50 species of birds and animals including herons, redtailed hawks, white-tailed deer or redheaded urubus... Finally, take a walk at Credit Village Marina at the mouth of the Credit River in Mississauga. Located a few steps from the old village of Port Credit la marina offers restaurants, shops and pleasure boats. Mississauga is home to Ontario's largest shopping centre, Square One Shopping Centre, with over 360 stores. The Art Gallery of Mississauga has four gallery spaces and houses the Sculpture Court where numerous seasonal exhibitions are held. The museum has a permanent collection of 400 works, including many Canadian artists. The Bradley Museum houses exhibitions, a tea room, and numerous art collections. Its park is also incredible in beauty and houses a farm built in 1830. The city is home to theatre, art centres, restaurants, bars, pubs and night clubs. Numerous shows every evening and festivals during the summer months. Night life is lively.
