If the rather industrialized and concreted southern part is composed above all of a rather swampy vegetation and a large tropical forest one observes on the eastern side a wilder vegetation where the jungle reigns as mistress. The east also has beautiful beaches with fine sand and typical Malay villages with houses on stilts that distort the landscape very little. Nature therefore occupies a large place in Malaysia and the forest alone still occupies 70% of its surface. Its flora is therefore varied with more than 10 000 species of plants and 2 000 kinds of tropical trees.

The equatorial climate allows Malaysia to enjoy sunny skies and high temperatures most of the year. Heat and humidity are the main characteristics of this climate. However, beware of monsoon periods, which should be avoided as far as possible: from November to March, the winter monsoon occurs mainly in the north-east, while the summer monsoon (concentrated mainly in the west) runs from August to November. It is therefore better to adapt the date of his next stay where you are.

Also be aware that the periods of Chinese New Year and Ramadan are not the most favorable to leave (rates increase considerably for the New Year while activities are slow during Ramadan). Because of the plurality of its peoples, Malaysia is a true mosaic of cultures and religions. Even if in Malaysia Islam is the state religion, the fact remains that the country has a great diversity of religions that coexist harmoniously. For example, the Chinese, very present, form an important Buddhist community. As for the Indians, they are essentially Hindus, but also Muslims or Sikhs. As a result, the country is full of religious buildings that constitute an extraordinary heritage. Some of these sites are nestled in the middle of the forest. This is not surprising since Malaysia has been able to develop while leaving a predominant place to nature which has not been or very little denatured. It is in fact it that gives most of its charm to the country. Miles of forests are accessible to visitors who will find an exceptional fauna and flora.

Malaysia has been able to draw incredible strength from its duality. Between concrete and nature, between western and eastern people one cannot get lost. Malaysia alone seems to represent a sample of our vast world. A true cultural crossroads, it offers an exceptional quality of life.

Art and culture in Malaysia
Islam being the state religion, the Malaysians attach great importance to Hari Raya Puasa which marks the end of the month of Ramadan. Happy festivities are organized everywhere during two days. Because of the large Chinese community in Malaysia, Chinese New Year is celebrated throughout Malaysia. While the Chinese population is quite discreet throughout the year, the New Year gives rise to large gatherings making an incredible joyful noise!
