In November 1999, Jean-Philippe Khodara founded zChocolat in Forcalquier, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence — as the story goes, to impress a woman he would later marry. It became one of the very first luxury houses born online, with a single conviction: the finest French chocolate deserved to reach any doorstep on earth.
From the very first sketch, the vision was uncompromising: all-natural ingredients of the highest quality, exceptional flavors and exacting standards. Z is the mathematical symbol for the infinite range of whole numbers — and the 26th letter of the alphabet, for the 26 recipes of our Numbered Collection. It stands for the discipline behind them: a zealous adherence to French tradition, and zero tolerance for anything that does not belong in fine chocolate.
All zChocolat products are created and produced exclusively in France — chic à la française, from the recipes to the wax seal. Then everything converges on Provence, where each gift is assembled, engraved, ribboned and sent.
