The "crème de la crème" of French chocolates

Our French chocolates are some of the finest chocolates in the world. Your beloved may become light headed and feel as though their feet are lifting off the ground when they first experience the crisp texture of our couverture, followed by velvety smooth ganache, crunchy praliné or robust solid chocolate. It has been said that being in love and eating chocolate provide the same sensation of euphoria – let your Valentine be the judge.

Four French chocolate kisses

Our small hearts appear in four sumptuous colors, each with an equally distinctive flavor profile: a delicious dark ganache cloaked in a white exterior, a creamy milk hazelnut praliné coated with 40% Ivory Coast milk chocolate, a Vanilla Bourbon caramel dressed in a dark 70% Venezuelan couverture and a divine ganache-infused bergamot, hidden under a daring red robe. Our four hearts can be found in all products from our Romantic Collection except the large hearts. Chocolate boxes with more than 12 pieces also include chocolates from our Numbered Collection – with the ever popular Z chocolate: a combination of crunchy praliné with sweet and salty caramel.

The shape of love

Our large, ½ pound, 4-inch wide heart-shaped chocolate is entirely made by hand. It marries an intensely aromatic 70% dark chocolate with a sensual praliné studded with roasted caramelized Piedmont hazelnuts. Click on the video to the left to see how our master chocolatier, Pascal Caffet, fashions each heart in our 2-heart mahogany case Our Hearts.

Make an indelible impression

Add a personal touch such as a romantic engraving directly on your gift, a love note with a picture of the two of you, your Valentine's initials tucked in the wrapping paper's wax seal or a carved mahogany heart attached to the drawstring of the woolen pouch protecting your gift. We have a limitless imagination and an obsessive attention to details to make sure that your gift will make an indelible impression.

Your personal engraving

Evoke fond memories of your teen years when love was as simple as two names carved into the bark of a tree by adding a diamond-engraving to the gift box. Each striking engraving can contain up to 25 characters (e.g., memorialize the day you first met, honor your anniversary or include an original romantic message).

Picture perfect

Surprise your Valentine by commemorating a favorite photo or a romantic-themed image directly inside the lid of our romantic mahogany boxes.

Letters of love

Being in love is never forgetting that special little detail that keeps your story alive. Born on Valentine's Day, this premium white, mosaic covered matte wrapping paper is adorned with a black satin ribbon and embossed with a handmade wax seal revealing an entwined pair of hearts. For further personalization, consider transporting your beloved to a more romantic era, when intimate penmanship between lovers was still a cherished art form. Surreptitious correspondence was often safeguarded from prying eyes by wax seals. Engender a similar sense of anticipation and intimacy when adding their initials to the wax seal clasping their gift.

You can never have too much love

Add another dimension of romance with an exquisitely carved mahogany heart-shaped accessory, festooned to the drawstring of the pouch enclosing your gift.

First impressions count

Deliver your message of love with French savoir-faire. Neatly nestled within the front pocket of our drawstring pouch, this stylish personal gift card can be illustrated with a romantic picture of the two of you or a love-themed image.

The code to your heart

Give your other-half the unique power to unlock your heart by completing your present with a touch of romantic genius. This heart-shaped padlock with your personalized 4-digit combination secures the top of the pouch enclosing your gift. We recommend giving a hint to what the mysterious combination may be in your card, such as an anniversary or another memorable date to ensure that your recipient is the only one that opens their gift box.

Build anticipation

There is very little room for surprise on February 14th, so put aside the routine and be the first to start Valentine's Day early. Our Concierge Service will personally call or email your Valentine on the day of your choice to build anticipation on their upcoming gift without revealing the content of the package.

Long-lasting romantic gifts

If your special someone has already received a zChocolat gift box, consider our chocolate refills to assure their keepsake box is ceaselessly endowing love.

A brief history on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day (aka the “Day of Lovers”) originated in 270 AD in Rome under the reign of the Emperor Claudius II. Believing that marriage made his men weak and less devoted to their duties as soldiers, the Emperor passed a shocking law, banning all marriages. The bishop Valentine, witness to the desperation of young lovers, decided to continue secretly joining them in the rite of matrimony. Quickly discovered by the authorities, Valentine was arrested and sentenced to death. While imprisoned, his jailor, having heard rumors of the bishops' saintly abilities, presented his blind daughter to be cured. Her sight restored, the two became close friends and Valentine, on the eve of his execution, wrote a final note to his friend that simply read: “From your Valentine” – a saying that has lived on through millennia as a true declaration of love.
