Wines & Chocolates: a Delicious Harmony

The Bastide de Jas de Bouffan welcomed in its charming gardens the event “Goûtez-Voir chez Cézanne”, previously named “Art et Terroir”, in participation with zChocolat. Held by the Tourism Office of Aix-en-Provence and dedicated to celebrate the opening of the summers' cultural festivities, this function allowed Aix residents to enjoy a family day plentiful in sports, culture and gastronomy.


The Garden Party commenced with a “wine-food and wine-chocolate” tasting realized by Gisèle Marguin, Master Sommelier of the Union de la Sommellerie Française (UDSF), and the participation of zChocolat, chefs and wine-growers of the region. Guests were invited to taste 4 of our chocolate recipes perfectly paired, by Mrs. Marguin, with a selection of wines in order to enhance each of the products powerful yet delicate flavors.

Our Z Chocolate, described as “deliciously provocative” by the Master Sommelier, was associated to a red Villa Minna Vineyard 2006 to create a “subtil and enchanting combination”. Our number 0, with a “delicate and elegant coverture” was matched with a red Château Paradis “Terre des Anges”. The dark number 5, a “tender passion” harmonized perfectly with a strong Terre de Mistral AOP Sainte Victoire “Nadia” 2011. Finally, the taste of our exquisite truffles were perfected by a wine from the Domaine de Saint Ser AOP Côte de Provence Sainte-Victoire.
