zChocolat on the Croisette

May 20th 2013

Cannes festival was into full swing last May 20th when the Commission du Film Alpes-Maritimes Côte d'Azur held its annual event on the famous Croisette. Founded in 1999 by the CCI Nice Côte d'Azur and its 4 founding cities – Antibes, Cannes, Grasse and Menton, this organization helps professionals to achieve their cinematographic, audiovisual and advertising projects in the South-East of France. Sponsor of the event, zChocolat created especially for this occasion exclusive Mahogany boxes decorated with the famous Palme d'Or.

Cannes made it to the top

Founded in 1946, Cannes festival is held annually in May. On the renowned Croisette, celebrities converge in front of photographs for the ascension of the glorious 24 steps at the Palais des Festivals et des congrès, where the majority of the movies are presented. This invitation-only festival receives during 15 days the most important figures of the international cinematographic industry (actors, directors, producers, distributors...) as well as hundreds of journalists, making this event one of the most covered worldwide. The festival ends up with an awards ceremony, giving, among others, the Prix du Jury, Grand Prix and the awaited Palme d'Or attributed this year to the movie “La vie d'Adèle” of Abdellatif Kechiche.

A unique box for Cannes Festival

As a sponsor, zChocolat realized 11 not for sale boxes embedded with a Palme d'Or and adorned by the inscription 'Cannes 2013' for the Commission du Film Alpes-Maritimes Côte d'Azur event. Taken from the coat of arms of Cannes, the symbol of the palm leaf is mostly known as the emblem of the festival and of its famous price.

We presented at Cannes Festival our Diamond box, named after the precious stone because of the high quality wood mahogany is made of. Handcraft in the heart of the Jura region, every box is unique and carved with the box serial number on its underside. Mahogany, with its tight grain and beautiful red undertones, harmonize perfectly elegance, sobriety and chic à la française.

A sought-after event

Held in the Gare Maritime de Cannes, this reception welcomed representatives of the most important production societies and television channels as TF1, M6 and Canal+. Mr. Jean-Pierre Leleux, Grasse Senator Mayor and President of the Commission du film and Mr. Bernard Kleynhoff, President of the CCI Nice Côte d'Azur, were also present at the event.
